JATIM BISSA (Empowered Disability Database) is a flagship research product developed by the Center of Excellence for Motion Technology for Safety, Health, and Wellness (MOSHEE) under the Research Institute of Sustainable Society (RISS) at Telkom University. CoE MOSHEE focuses on developing technologies that support public safety, health, and well-being. JATIM BISSA was born from the drive to expand and equalize employment opportunities for people with disabilities in East Java. Historically, individuals with disabilities have often faced limitations in accessing information and opportunities for jobs that match their skills. On the other hand, many companies are committed to inclusive employment but lack an effective system to directly reach candidates with disabilities.
Addressing this challenge, JATIM BISSA emerges as a web-based digital platform that connects people with disabilities to a range of employment opportunities. Through this platform, users can access inclusive job vacancies, skills training programs, as well as information on activities and events from government agencies and related institutions. The platform also offers a profile-matching feature that aligns the abilities of people with disabilities with the needs of companies, making the recruitment process more efficient and targeted. In addition to helping individuals with disabilities secure suitable employment, JATIM BISSA encourages companies to actively contribute to creating inclusive and equitable work environments. Supported by CoE MOSHEE and RISS, the platform is expected to foster a more disability-friendly employment ecosystem and strengthen collaboration among academics, government, and industry in realizing sustainable social development.
