Gun Range Simulator (Virtual Reality Shooting Simulation)

The Gun Range Simulator (Virtual Reality Shooting Simulation) is a Virtual Reality (VR)-based research product developed by the Center of Excellence Motion Technology for Safety, Health, and Wellness (MOSHEE) under the Research Institute of Sustainable Society (RISS). The application adopts the First Person Shooter (FPS) concept as an interactive training medium to simulate an immersive shooting experience within a realistic three-dimensional environment.

Designed with a user experience–based approach, the Gun Range Simulator aims to effectively train concentration, accuracy, reflexes, and motor coordination. Through the use of VR headsets such as Meta Quest 2 or 3, users can directly interact with a virtual environment that replicates a real shooting range, without posing any risk of physical injury. The system is also equipped with a high-performance computer and an external display monitor (43–50 inch LED TV) to present the user’s perspective in real time, making it a safe, efficient, and adaptive training solution for various purposes, ranging from entertainment to professional training. This innovation reflects MOSHEE’s commitment to delivering motion-based and immersive simulation technologies that not only support the digital entertainment sector but also hold potential applications in military, law enforcement, and other security institutions.
