The Acoustic Gunshot Detector is a sound-based gunshot detection system developed by the Center of Excellence for Motion Technology for Safety, Health, and Wellness (MOSHEE) under the Research Institute of Sustainable Society (RISS), in collaboration with PT Ansa Solusitama. This partnership focuses on developing intelligent technology that enhances the effectiveness of security and defense systems, particularly in quickly and accurately detecting and locating the source of gunfire in the field.
The system operates by combining data from four sound sensors (microphone array) that capture acoustic waves from firearm discharges. Through signal aggregation and position triangulation, the system can determine the direction and location of the sound source with high accuracy. In addition, the technology features an intelligent noise-canceling function that filters out surrounding audio interference, ensuring the system remains focused on the distinctive characteristics of gunfire sounds.

This innovation holds significant potential for application in the security and defense sectors, particularly in tactical situations that require rapid response to sniper threats or other armed activities. With further development, the system is expected to become an integral part of an AI-based, advanced sensor analytics security solution.
