eMedDis (Electronic Medicine Dispenser) is an Internet of Things (IoT)-based technological innovation developed by the Center of Excellence for Motion Technology for Safety, Health, and Wellness (MOSHEE) under the Research Institute of Sustainable Society (RISS). This device is designed to automate the medication dispensing process in healthcare facilities, enhancing both efficiency and patient convenience in accessing pharmacy services.

Through direct integration with the Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) via an Application Programming Interface (API), eMedDis can synchronize prescription data in real time. Patients simply need to enter their queue number and national ID (NIK) to access and collect their prescribed medications, without long waits at the pharmacy counter. The system features an interactive touchscreen, a thermal printer, and a nine-compartment medication slot housed in a sturdy metal frame, ensuring that the medication dispensing process is fast, safe, and well-organized.
The introduction of eMedDis represents a concrete step in the digital transformation of healthcare services, aligning with efforts toward creating smart hospitals (smart hospital). This innovation also demonstrates how technology can help reduce queues, minimize medication dispensing errors, and accelerate service delivery to the public.
